Neville Staple (The Specials, Fun Boy Three) and Dave Swift (Jools Holland’s Bassist of 27 years) both feature on this new EP. It’s a tribute to iconic trombonist Rico Rodriguez (affectionately known as El Reco or Reco to his close friends and family) that sadly passed away in 2015, who began his career with his close friend Neville Staple in The Specials and ended it alongside Dave Swift in The Jools Holland R&B Orchestra.

Taking her influences from the greats such as Louis Prima, Sarah Vaughn and Nina Simone, and more recently Amy Winehouse, Paulo Nutini and Paloma Faith, Georgia’s music has a grown blend of different genres that are brought together, in what she refers to as Retro Pop. Performing LIVE her vocal has the powerful rawness of Janice Joplin and her stage presence boasts the flamboyancy of Marc Bolan.

During those early career building days, Georgia had been on a host of BBC local radio shows too, including; BBC Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Kent and Cornwall. She’s had tracks nominated as record of the week on BBC Cornwall and BBC Introducing in Essex. In 2019 she set off on a 50 date support band tour of the UK, culminating in a stellar performance at The Royal Albert Hall. In short, if you are a fan of any of the above artists then Georgia’s music is a must have for your collection. At Just 20 years old, Dan Roberts of BBC radio London asked Georgia, “Where did that voice come from?”
