When Mo Pleasure, the bass player and musical director of Earth Wind & Fire say’s; “Hey Georgia, I’d like to produce your next EP”. You cannot refuse. This new collective of Jazz-funk and soul is a little different from the jazz standards and Ska stuff that Georgia has written previously. It lends is itself perfectly to Mo’s style and it’s lead track, ‘Glory’ was record of the week on BBC Radio Cornwall in September 2018
As broadcast on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Wales and numerous BBC Local radio stations “Taking her influences from the greats such as Louis Prima, Sarah Vaughn and Nina Simone, and more recently Amy Winehouse Paulo Nutini and Paloma Faith”. Georgia’s music has a blend of different genres that are brought together in a Retro Jazz or Jazz Swing style with incredible horn arrangements that make them sit under the same roof.
In short, if you are a fan of any of the above artists then Georgia’s music is a must have for your collection. At Just 20 years old Dan Roberts of BBC radio London asked Georgia, “Where did that voice come from?”
With her love of musical theatre that introduced Georgia to Jazz, along with classic films containing artists like Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland, Georgia manages to write truthful lyrics about her life’s experiences and dress them, sometimes, in a tongue in cheek youthful fashion. Her demographic would appear to appeal to the more older, mature audience but her young age puts a real edge to her music that also appeals to a younger audience.
